If you do not agree to the terms and conditions set forth in this agreement ("Agreement" or "TOS"), you are not permitted to access the Website or use any of the Services.
2. Layers
- Layers App is a hybrid application that runs on centralized (MongoDB, Digital Ocean) and decentralized (IPFS, Filecoin, and Public Blockchains) infrastructures.
- The data generated on centralized infrastructure is stored on the respective third parties, so their privacy policy is applicable there.
- The data generated on the decentralized infrastructure is only stored on the participants of the network’s device and secured by the network. Layers don’t store any information directly on third party services; we query them from the decentralized network using open source APIs and show them on the Layers App.
- We haven’t enabled encryption on files, so all the files uploaded through Layers App are public and anyone with an internet connection can have access to them.
- The Personal Data of the user is stored at N. Virginia US via AWS.
3. What information we collect
We collect the following information:
- First & Last Name
- Wallet address
- Content ID
4. Why We Collect it
Layers gathers personal data to enhance our website's analysis and performance, facilitate direct marketing, and keep you informed about product updates.
Personal Data is defined as any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
Any processing of Personal Data by Layers is conducted in accordance with applicable data privacy legislation.
We process your data for the following purposes:
Identification: Email, wallet address, Name
Authentication: Wallet Address
Notification: Email
Direct marketing and Product updates: We use email as a medium of communication to update users about important product updates, sending newsletters, and announcements.

When providing us with your Personal Data, you may request access to your Personal Data, as well as information on how we process your Personal Data.

6. Changes to Privacy Policy
Layers reserves the right to adjust or change this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of such changes before they are implemented. You agree to such modifications or changes by continuing to use the Layers App after such information has been made available to you.
7. Cookie Policy

Layers uses cookies for authentication purposes only. Layers uses JWT tokens as cookies to store the user session on the web browser. Layers follows a different approach to getting user consent for cookies. Layers uses the user’s wallet-generated signature choice as the cookie consent. If the user signs the message, it is treated as the acceptance of cookies.
We use Google Analytics to track the performance of the website. Google Analytics uses the _ga cookie that enables a service to distinguish one visitor from another and lasts for 2 years. We don’t use any third-party cookies.
